Socialization of textbooks is considered a major policy ineducational innovation, aiming to mobilize resources from the whole society to participate in compiling, publishing and selecting textbooks.
Compared to the previous monopoly model, diversifying textbooks not only encourages creativity, but also creates conditions for textbooks to closely reflect regional realities, learning needs and modern development trends, contributing to improving the quality of education through a competitive mechanism. From there, gradually improving the content, form and method of accessing knowledge for learners.
Improve the quality of textbooks
According to Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong - Principal of Thai Thinh Secondary School ( Hanoi ), the policy of socialization in compiling textbooks is a correct direction, in line with the development trend of modern and integrated education.
In fact, many developed countries in the world have applied this model for a long time, and when Vietnam implemented the 2018 General Education Program, the socialization of textbooks has shown clear effectiveness, especially in mobilizing resources and intelligence from the community to participate in the compilation process.
Previously, when there was only one set of textbooks in the system, both teachers and students viewed the books as rigid and mandatory documents, thereby reducing opportunities for innovation in teaching and learning. This approach also somewhat limited the creativity of the team of authors who compiled the books, when they had to adhere to a fixed template.
Since the implementation of socialization, the textbook market has become richer with the appearance of many different sets of books, allowing comparison and contrast in terms of content and approach to knowledge. This contributes positively to the innovation of teaching methods, when teachers can choose teaching materials suitable to the characteristics of learners and local teaching conditions. At the same time, students also have the opportunity to access knowledge in a multi-dimensional, proactive and more attractive way.
In addition, socialization also opens up a larger creative space for groups of authors, allowing them to express their thinking, contribute knowledge and innovate approaches to educational content.

According to Mr. Cuong, the viewpoint of "one program - many textbooks", in which the program plays the role of a decree, unifying the requirements to be achieved nationwide, and textbooks are rich learning materials to support the implementation of the program, has brought about a strong change in the education sector.
“Having teachers access to and choose from a variety of books makes lessons more lively, forcing teachers to innovate their thinking and methods to create appeal for learners.
On the contrary, students are also more interested when they can exploit many sources of documents, broaden their perspectives and foster a spirit of self-study," said Mr. Cuong.
Parents can easily teach their children at home
In reality, implementing the policy of "one program - many textbooks" not only opens up opportunities for innovation in the education sector, but also brings many practical benefits to teachers, students and parents.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Ta Van Duan - parent of Ta Uyen Nhi, a third grade student at Thang Long Primary School (Thuong Tin Commune, Hanoi) shared: "Having many different sets of textbooks creates healthy competition between publishers, thereby contributing to improving the quality of content and form of books. Teachers have many options suitable for the students they are teaching, and parents are more convenient when accompanying their children to study at home."
Mr. Duẩn said that in the past, when there was only one set of textbooks, at the beginning of the new school year, parents often had to struggle to find enough books for their children. Scarcity and "out of stock" situations were common.
However, since the implementation of the policy of diversifying textbooks, this situation has significantly decreased. In particular, teachers have the right to choose books from many different sets for each subject, helping teaching and learning become more flexible and effective.
As someone who directly accompanies his child during his homeschooling, Mr. Ta Van Duan has had the opportunity to access and learn about all three current textbooks. Through practical experience, he is particularly impressed with the Canh Dieu book series thanks to its logical design, clear layout, vivid images, and familiar, easy-to-understand language.
“I appreciate the Canh Dieu book series because of its scientific presentation and familiar, easy-to-understand language. Thanks to that, I can easily accompany my child in the learning process at home without much difficulty.
The lessons in the book not only convey knowledge simply but are also closely linked to practical life issues, helping children learn without getting bored, and even excited to explore," said Mr. Duan.

Mr. Duẩn believes that when students not only learn to know but also do to understand, experience to remember, learning becomes easier and still effective. “I feel more secure when my child learns content related to daily life, and I can also review lessons with him and explain more if needed. These are advantages that were not easy to do before because the books were too academic and far from reality,” he shared.
In addition to the familiar and easy-to-understand content, Mr. Duan also highly appreciates the design of the Canh Dieu textbooks for their ability to arouse students' curiosity and proactive learning. According to him, each lesson is presented in a scientific and vivid way, with clear and eye-catching illustrations and the content is built in an open direction, inspiring students to learn right from the first pages.
When exposed to books, children no longer feel forced to study or completely dependent on adult guidance, but know how to learn lessons on their own and ask themselves questions.
