Since the beginning of the year, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has coordinated with localities to encourage and support the construction and development of production areas according to VietGAP standards. To date, the province has developed 322.35 hectares of cultivated area ensuring safety and traceability criteria, creating a reliable raw material area for the processing industry. In addition, functional sectors have newly issued 54 growing area codes with a total area of over 1,049.32 hectares, including 34 growing area codes for export and 20 codes for domestic consumption; at the same time, 7 packaging facility codes have been established and 12 ineffective codes have been recalled, ensuring input quality for modern distribution channels inside and outside the province.
In particular, Quang Ninh has promoted the production - tourism linkage model, piloting a tourism chain associated with local products. Some typical models include: Hoanh Bo Ward has developed garden tourism, welcoming visitors to visit, experience fruit harvesting, and learn about the process of caring for fruit trees. Yen Duc village experience tourism in Hoang Que Ward allows visitors to grow and pick vegetables, tubers, and fruits, and participate in folk cultural activities. The Orange Festival in Van Don Special Zone was also successfully organized, attracting thousands of visitors to experience planting, grafting, pruning, and enjoying fresh oranges and preparing specialty dishes. Thanks to that, many farmers in these areas have increased their revenue by 30-40% compared to the same period last year.
In the field of trade promotion, in the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the province organized 2 provincial-level OCOP fairs, contributing to the introduction and connection of consumption of nearly 1,500 typical products. In addition, 8 Customs - Business dialogue conferences provided information on customs procedures and import-export regulations, helping more than 1,788 businesses promptly grasp new legal documents. To expand its consumption channels, Quang Ninh has actively put its products on e-commerce platforms. Quang Ninh OCOP platform (postmart.vn) currently has 332 sales accounts, of which 169 accounts have been activated and 129 booths are operating, introducing 432 products of 235 businesses; traffic reached more than 96,000 visits in the first 6 months of the year. At the same time, production households and cooperatives are supported to open booths on major platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, Tiki, Fado, Amazon... The coordination with Viettel Pay to integrate electronic payments has created maximum convenience for consumers; to date, over 80 OCOP products have been connected for stable consumption through modern channels such as Go! Ha Long, MM Mega Market, WinMart, Aloha, Lan Chi...
Brand building and development are also focused on. Every year, the province organizes the evaluation and star rating of OCOP products; currently, there are 432 products with 3 stars or more, including 5 5-star products, 107 4-star products and 320 3-star products. Departments and branches also coordinate to inspect and review the National Target Program on New Rural Development, urging the completion of 135 rural markets, 7 commercial centers and 384 convenience stores across the area, creating favorable conditions for the circulation and trade of goods.
In addition to production support, the work of linking and cooperating with socio-political organizations has been promoted. The Fatherland Front and mass organizations mobilized 70,121 farming households to commit to safe production, 41,398 farmers installed and used the Vietnam Farmer APP; 2,704 members were supported to build accounts on e-commerce platforms; through the Farmer Support Fund, 39 projects with 379 households borrowed capital, helping people expand production and business.
Thanks to these synchronous efforts, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the first 6 months of 2025 in Quang Ninh increased by about 18.2% over the same period. The number and scale of safe, high-quality production areas are constantly increasing; the reputation and market share of Quang Ninh goods and specialties have been affirmed in the modern distribution system and in the export market.
