Thailand have secured their first win at this year's Asian Cup, after they defeated Kyrgyzstan 2-0 on January 16. Thailand's next goal is to beat Oman on the evening of January 21.

Commenting on Thailand's second match at the 2023 Asian Cup, against Oman, Thailand coach Masatada Ishii said: "Thailand's mission is to win. Oman has a good attacking style, and they are also very resilient in defense."

"Therefore, our task is to destroy Oman's defense. This team scored a goal against Saudi Arabia in the first match, but then lost before the end of the match. That shows that Oman is a quality team," added coach Masatada Ishii.

Thailand is temporarily leading Group F with 3 points after the first round of matches, while Oman has no points and is in 3rd place in the group. However, this ranking does not reflect anything, because the strength of Oman football is not inferior to Thailand's football.

Regarding this issue, coach Masatada Ishii said: "I don't care about the current rankings of the teams, we only have one goal, which is to win. The entire Thai team will focus on that goal."

The Thai national team under coach Masatada Ishii is making Thai football fans feel secure, especially after the team's good start at the 2023 Asian Cup.

With confidence in the team, many Thai football fans even mentioned the World Cup qualifying campaign. However, coach Masatada Ishii skillfully pulled the media and football fans of the Golden Temple country back to the Asian Cup.

Mr. Masatada Ishii said: "I am not thinking about the World Cup qualifiers yet, not thinking about the race for the second place in the World Cup qualifiers with the Chinese team. It is still too far to think about this campaign. Right now, I want to focus on the Asian Cup."

"However, I affirm that I have not forgotten that goal. We still want to win a ticket to the World Cup finals," coach Masatada Ishii emphasized.

Thailand will face Oman and Saudi Arabia at the Asian Cup on January 21 and January 25 respectively. If they pass the group stage, they will advance to the round of 16, which will take place from January 28 to January 31.
