Pig price in the South 7/7: Stable at the beginning of the week

The survey shows that Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Ca Mau are the localities with the highest live pig prices in the country, reaching 70,000 VND/kg. Following are Can Tho and Tay Ninh with live pig prices reaching 69,000 VND/kg. Live pig prices in Dong Thap and Vinh Long are still maintained at 68,000 VND/kg.

Gia Lai destroys more than 200 pigs infected with African swine fever, causing shock
On the afternoon of July 4, Mr. Phan Long Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Nhon Dong Ward, Gia Lai Province, confirmed that the local government coordinated with the provincial veterinary force to destroy 202 pigs infected with African swine fever (ASF) virus according to prescribed procedures.
This herd of pigs belongs to Mr. NDT, raised in Hao Duc area, An Nhon Dong ward. Previously, Mr. T. discovered many pigs showing abnormal signs such as high fever, not eating and reported to the authorities. After checking and taking samples for testing, the Veterinary force confirmed that the herd of pigs were positive for ASF virus, forcing them to destroy all 202 pigs to prevent the spread of the disease.
Currently, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Gia Lai province is coordinated with local authorities to strengthen monitoring and inspection in high-risk areas. At the same time, the unit also provides technical support to people to safely re-herd pigs, ensuring hygiene and biosafety standards.
