The Vietnamese delegation attended the event with the presence of Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO . In addition, the delegation also included representatives from agencies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and delegations from provinces with World Heritage sites in Vietnam.
The Quang Ninh province delegation was led by comrade Nguyen Hong Duong, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, with the participation of comrade Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders and experts from departments, branches, and scientists .
Attending the meeting, the Quang Ninh delegation has the following key tasks: grasping the new policies of UNESCO on the management, protection and promotion of world heritage values; protect the rights of the Ha Long Bay World Heritage; reporting and explaining the contents related to the conservation of the Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago World Heritage under the province's responsibility. At the same time, the delegation will also exchange and acquire experience in managing and protecting world heritage from member countries, seek advice from international experts to manage and preserve heritage sustainably, and promote the tourism potential and strengths of Quang Ninh province to the countries attending the meeting.
In particular, at this session, one of the core tasks of the Vietnamese delegation in general and Quang Ninh province in particular is to protect and promote the listing of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex as a World Heritage Site.
Previously, on July 6, the Quang Ninh Provincial Delegation participated in the opening ceremony of the space promoting the heritage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Co Loa Relic Site at the World Heritage Site of Provins Ancient Town, France.
