Today, domestic coffee prices increased slightly compared to the beginning of the week, which is considered a positive signal in the context of world coffee prices adjusting downward. Despite the weakening international market, domestic coffee prices remained stable and tended to increase. Many agents and farmers took advantage of the opportunity to sell when prices recovered slightly, creating more excitement for the market.
According to traders, the recent price increase in Vietnam has forced many investors holding short positions to buy back contracts to lock in profits, contributing to supporting prices in the short term.
It is forecasted that next week, domestic coffee prices may fluctuate between VND94,000 and VND95,000 per kilogram if there are no major fluctuations in the world market. However, in the medium term, the risk of oversupply still exists if output from major exporting countries increases as forecast. Weather and consumer demand in major markets such as the US and Europe will also significantly affect price trends in the coming time.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market decreased slightly on two floors:
Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery September 2025: Down 4 USD/ton, to 3,661 USD/ton.
November 2025 delivery: Down 2 USD/ton, to 3,593 USD/ton.
Arabica Coffee (New York):
September 2025 delivery: Down 1.9 cents/lb, to 303.75 cents/lb.
December 2025 delivery: Down 3 cents/lb, to 297.4 cents/lb.
Robusta coffee prices on ICE stabilized over the weekend after hitting a one-year low, with speculators taking profits from short selling amid a still-positive outlook for global supplies.
Brazil’s 2025 arabica coffee harvest is underway, but in some areas, many coffee cherries have fallen to the ground, affecting the quality of the harvest, two experts told Reuters.
Downward pressure remains on the market due to forecasts of higher production and lower demand. Carlos Mera, head of agricultural commodity research at Rabobank, said arabica prices have fallen by 17% in the past three months due to better production forecasts and signs of weakening demand.
On the inventory front, ICE-monitored robusta stocks fell to a five-week low of 5,108 lots as of Thursday. Arabica stocks also fell sharply, from a five-month high of 892,468 bags to 844,319 bags on Friday, a factor that could provide short-term support for prices.
