Geely Geome Xingyuan priced at 250 million, best seller in China
Geely Geome Xingyuan has become China's best-selling car model in the first half of 2025, with more than 204,000 units sold, surpassing both BYD Seagull and Tesla Model Y.

In the context of the Chinese auto market witnessing a fierce race between domestic and international car manufacturers, the ranking of the 20 best-selling car models in the first half of 2025 just announced by Yiche - a specialized auto media in China, clearly reflects the trend of shifting to new energy vehicles (NEV). This table also shows the strong rise of domestic brands. With a starting price of only 69,800 yuan (equivalent to about 254 million VND), Geely Geome Xingyuan has won the leading position with sales of 204,940 vehicles sold in the first half of the year.
This model surpassed famous names such as BYD Seagull or Tesla Model Y, and is the only model on the list to achieve sales of over 200,000 vehicles in the first 6 months of the year. In second place, BYD Seagull continued to maintain stable performance with sales of 174,912 vehicles, an average of about 30,000 vehicles/month, affirming the appeal of the mini electric car model with a friendly design and low operating costs. The Tesla Model Y ranked third with 171,491 units sold. Despite only coming in third overall, the Model Y still holds the position of the best-selling premium electric vehicle in China in the price segment of 200,000 yuan (about 727 million VND) and above.
Fourth place went to Hongguang Mini EV, the model that once held the top spot in the small electric vehicle market, with 171,064 units sold. Meanwhile, BYD Qin Plus ranked fifth with 163,603 units, continuing to be a typical representative of the popular plug-in hybrid sedan line. From sixth place is Xiaomi SU7, a rookie model from the technology brand Xiaomi. Geely's flagship SUV, Xingyue L, is ranked 7th. In Vietnam, this model is called Monjaro and will be launched in July 2025. The next positions are: BYD Song Plus (in Vietnam, it is called Sealion 6), Volkswagen Lavida, Nissan Sylphy. About Geely Geome Xingyuan 2025 - this is a budget electric car model in China launched in September 2024 with a modern design, many useful amenities but the selling price is very low compared to the general market level, creating a direct confrontation with cars in the same segment.
The Geome Xingyuan is available in two powertrain configurations. The base model is powered by a GLB Power TZ160XS001 electric motor, which produces 78 horsepower (58 kW) and has a top speed of 75 mph (125 km/h). The higher-end model is powered by a TZ160XS002 motor that produces 114 horsepower and has a top speed of 83 mph (135 km/h). Customers buying the Geely Geome Xingyuan 2025 have two LFP battery options manufactured by CATL, a 30.12 kWh battery for a 310 km range according to CLTC standards and a 40.16 kWh battery for a 410 km range. These are both parameters that are more than necessary for a small urban car.
