In June 2025, the Vietnamese auto market grew significantly compared to the previous month. However, in the pickup truck segment, not all models sold better than in May 2025, except for the Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi Triton duo.
Ford Ranger: 1,403 vehicles
In June, Ford Ranger sold 1,403 units, an increase of 11.8%. With this result, Ford's car model not only leads the pickup truck segment but also enters the top 10 best-selling cars in the entire market. In addition, Ford Ranger continues to outstrip competitors in the same segment.
Ford Ranger's cumulative sales in the first half of this year reached 7,785 units. This is currently one of the best-selling car models in Vietnam.
Ford's Ranger model not only leads the pickup truck segment but also makes it into the top 10 best-selling cars in the entire market.
In July 2025, Ford Ranger continues to have an attractive genuine incentive program. Accordingly, the vehicle is entitled to a 100% discount on registration fees for the two Sport and Wildtrak versions with a value of 52 - 59 million VND. Particularly for the Ranger Raptor, Ford Vietnam and the dealer system offer 2 years of physical insurance worth up to 31 million VND, or converted into a cash incentive worth 20 million VND for customers.
Meanwhile, customers who buy the Ford Ranger XLS 4x2 and XLS 4x4 will also receive a 2-year physical insurance incentive, along with a gift of a Vietmap TS-2K camera. The total promotional value of the vehicle can be up to 25 million VND. These gifts can be converted into a cash incentive worth 14 million VND, depending on the customer's choice.
In addition to the incentive program, Ford Ranger also attracts Vietnamese people thanks to its advantages in design, equipment and version. Currently, this car model has a selling price ranging from 707 million to 1.306 billion VND.
Under the hood of the Ford Ranger in Vietnam are two diesel engine options with a capacity of 2.0L. The first is a single turbocharged engine with a maximum capacity of 167 horsepower and a maximum torque of 405 Nm. This engine comes with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The second is a twin-turbo engine, with a power of 207 horsepower and 500 Nm, respectively, with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Mitsubishi Triton: 317 vehicles
Similar to its rival Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton also had a better month of business. Sales of this model reached 317 units, up 12%. This figure brought the cumulative sales in the first 6 months of the year of Mitsubishi Triton to 1,816 units, ranking second in the pickup truck segment, after Ford Ranger.
Similar to the previous month, this July, Mitsubishi Triton also has a genuine promotion program. Specifically, the car is supported by the company with 50% of the registration fee for all 3 versions: 2WD AT GLX, 2WD AT Premium and 4WD AT Athlete, helping customers save from 20 - 28 million VND. In addition, the company also gives a gift worth 10 million VND to customers who buy this pickup truck model.
Mitsubishi Triton also had a better month of business. Sales of this model reached 317 units, up 12%.
Compared to Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton has a more affordable price, from 655 - 924 million VND. The design and equipment of the car itself are also quite attractive.
For the above amount of money, customers will receive equipment such as 8-way power driver's seat, dashboard combined with 7-inch multi-information screen, 9-inch central touch screen, support for wireless Apple CarPlay/wired Android Auto connection, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, wireless charging, 360-degree camera, forward collision warning and mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic headlights, blind spot warning and lane change assist with cross-traffic alert when reversing.
Powering the Mitsubishi Triton in Vietnam is a 2.4L, twin-turbocharged, 4-cylinder MIVEC diesel engine. In the 2WD AT GLX and 2WD AT Premium versions, the engine produces a maximum capacity of 184 horsepower and a maximum torque of 430 Nm. The corresponding figures in the 4WD AT Athlete version are 204 horsepower and 470 Nm. The engine is combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 1-wheel or 2-wheel drive, depending on the version.
Toyota Hilux: 208 cars
In contrast to the two competitors above, Toyota Hilux "plummeted" in June 2025. Sales of this pickup truck model reached 208 units, down 21.2%. Cumulative sales in the first 6 months of this year of Toyota Hilux also ranked 3rd in the segment, reaching 1,401 units.
Unlike its two competitors, Toyota Hilux has not had any genuine incentive programs during the past time. The selling price of the car is not much cheaper than its competitors, ranging from 668 - 999 million VND. Therefore, the sales of Toyota's car model have not improved much.
Cumulative sales in the first 6 months of this year of Toyota Hilux also ranked 3rd in the segment, reaching 1,401 vehicles.
Toyota Hilux in Vietnam has notable equipment such as 9-inch central touch screen, support for connecting to smartphones via Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, 360-degree camera, 6 sensors, blind spot warning system and rear cross-traffic warning.
The "heart" of the Toyota Hilux is two 4-cylinder diesel engines. The first is a 2.4L engine, producing a maximum capacity of 144 horsepower and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The second is a 2.8L turbocharged engine with a maximum capacity of 201 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. These two engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. In addition, there is a 1-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive system, depending on the version.
Isuzu D-Max: 31 vehicles
The model with the highest sales decline in the pickup segment last June was the Isuzu D-Max. This model sold only 31 units, down 59.7%. Sales of the Isuzu D-Max in June 2025 and the first 6 months of this year were at the bottom of the pickup segment.
Suzuki D-Max has the most attractive price in the segment, only from 650 - 880 million VND. However, the design of the car is quite picky while the equipment is not convincing enough. The fact that the Isuzu brand in Vietnam is mainly associated with trucks, combined with ineffective sales and product promotion policies, is also the reason why D-Max always sells the worst in the segment.

Isuzu D-Max in Vietnam has LED lighting system, 18-inch rims, 7-inch MID multi-information display in the dashboard, 9-inch central touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, USB Type C port, black and brown leather seats, 8-way power driver's seat with CoolMax heat accumulation reduction technology, UVA/UVB-resistant windshield, 8-speaker Dynamic Surround Sound system and 2-zone automatic air conditioning system with PM2.5 fine dust filter.
