Lung Dac Hill has cracks, Thanh Hoa declares emergency situation

On September 23, Thanh Hoa People's Committee announced that it had just issued a decision to declare an emergency situation due to the landslide on Lung Dac hill in Khung village, Thiet Ke commune, Ba Thuoc district.

Previously, according to the report of the People's Committee of Ba Thuoc district and the results of the actual inspection, due to the influence of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi ) and the storm circulation in Ba Thuoc district, there was prolonged heavy rain and caused a landslide on Lung Dac hill.

On the hill, a slide arc was formed with a width of about 120.5m and a depth of about 114m. Within the slide arc, there were many cracks and subsidence. This landslide location had a very large and dangerous volume, directly affecting the houses, property, and lives of 4 households within the slide arc and 3 households and 2 neighboring residents.

Not only that, the hill is at risk of landslides, burying a section of National Highway 217, causing traffic jams and agricultural land for the people of Khung village. Currently, it is the peak of the rainy season, the slide is at risk of continuing to develop and develop in a complex and unpredictable manner.

Faced with the above problem, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested local authorities to proactively relocate people and property out of the area affected by the slide.

In addition, fences, monitoring markers and warning signs should be installed in the landslide area, and publicized widely on the mass media. Do not allow people, pets and vehicles to enter dangerous areas at risk of landslides, especially during heavy rains.

At the same time, take appropriate reinforcement measures to limit the development and impact of landslides.
