In the early morning of July 23, due to the impact of storm Wipha, widespread heavy rain and floods from Laos caused thousands of houses in communes on the border of Nghe An province to be flooded more than 2 meters deep. To date, many communes are still flooded, cut off from traffic, and difficult to access.

To enable users of all networks to communicate via Viettel waves in isolated areas, Viettel has opened roaming in 16 communes in the Nghe An border area, connecting telecommunications waves. In these provinces, the demand for mobile services of customers on Viettel network increased sharply, in which data usage increased from 7-21%.
