Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Deputy Director of VNNIC delivered the opening speech of the Workshop.
On July 22, 2025, in Hanoi, Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC) in collaboration with Asia- Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) and Keio University, Japan organized a Workshop with the theme "Youth in the development of the Internet, industrial Internet". This is the first activity in a series of events within the framework of VNNIC Internet Conference 2025, and is also part of the training program VNNIC Internet School for Youth 2025 (VISY).
The event attracted a large number of students majoring in telecommunications and information technology from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) and many universities across the country.
Speaking at the opening of the Workshop, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC), emphasized: In the digital age, young people are not only Internet users but also the pioneering force shaping the future of cyberspace, including the responsibility of building and maintaining a safe, open, sustainable and comprehensive network environment. According to Mr. Giang, participating in Internet management and development activities will help young people improve their policy thinking, understand the operating principles of the global Internet, and thereby contribute their voices to a more trustworthy cyberspace.
The workshop "Youth in the development of the Internet, industrial Internet" provided students with basic knowledge and practical skills about the Internet, while equipping young people with the capacity to effectively exploit and manage national Internet resources, ready to enter the digital age with the industrial Internet. The training session was led by lecturers who are senior experts from APNIC and VNNIC, with the active participation of students from universities specializing in information technology and communications in all three regions.
Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (Mo) with Keio University International Research Institute (KGRI) - Japan
Also within the framework of the event, the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC) and the Keio University International Research Institute (KGRI) – Japan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new step forward in the cooperative relationship between VNNIC and a prestigious international university. The signing demonstrates VNNIC’s continuous efforts in expanding international cooperation, connecting knowledge and creating opportunities for Vietnamese students to participate in research, academic activities and practical projects in the field of the Internet.
In recent years, VNNIC and KGRI-CCRC have coordinated to implement many training programs for Vietnamese students. Nearly 100 students have participated in online basic Internet courses within the framework of the APIE program; three Vietnamese students have been selected to attend the APIE summer camp in Indonesia; two students continue to participate in the advanced summer camp in Japan. These activities have opened up valuable opportunities for Vietnamese students to access the international academic environment, interact with leading experts in the field of Internet and develop global thinking in the digital age. In the coming time, VNNIC and KGRI-CCRC hope to continue to bring more opportunities for Vietnamese students to participate in international forums, and in the near future, organize an international Internet summer camp right in Vietnam.
In parallel with the Workshop for students, from July 23 to 25, VNNIC Internet Conference 2025 will continue with activities for technical staff and network administrators, including two specialized workshops on DNS and IPv6 (from July 23–24), and the main Conference session on July 25.
The year 2025 also marks an important turning point when VNNIC officially standardizes annual training activities for students into the "VNNIC Internet School for Youth" (VISY) Program. The program is held from May to November 2025, in coordination with prestigious regional and international Internet organizations such as ICANN, APNIC, SOI Asia, etc. to provide in-depth training activities on the Internet, including webinar series, workshops, skills courses, policy thinking, etc. The program aims to equip Vietnamese students with updated knowledge, opportunities to participate in international courses and internships, contributing to capacity building, community connection and development of high-quality young human resources for the Internet sector in Vietnam.
