Floodwaters rose rapidly, causing deep inundation and cutting off many traffic routes. Dozens of villages were cut off, losing electricity and phone signals, seriously affecting people's lives.

According to information from the Nghe An Border Guard, after the heavy rain and flood on the night of July 22, 78 houses were affected, of which 15 houses collapsed and were completely swept away, mainly in Ta Do and Xop Phe villages. Many people's properties were lost, a kindergarten and a primary school were also heavily flooded...

In the My Ly Border Post area, the flood swept away about 150 houses, more than 200 others were deeply submerged. The suspension bridge across Yen Hoa village, My Ly commune was completely swept away by the flood. Many constructions and schools were eroded and severely damaged. National Highway 16 through this area was cut off in many sections, currently 5 villages including Yen Hoa, Xop Tu, Xop Duong, Cha Nga and La village are isolated.

As soon as the flood rose, the commune's Disaster Prevention Command activated all "4 on-site" forces, highly concentrated, mobilizing police, military , border guards, commune officials and local people to help each other.

At Nhon Mai Border Post, Tuong Duong District, although the rain has stopped, 21 villages are still isolated. At least 20 houses were swept away by floodwaters, and 10 others had to be urgently evacuated. Unfortunately, one person was buried by a landslide, and his body was found at 8am this morning.

On the morning of July 24, Secretary of the Party Committee of Muong Tip Commune, Nghe An Province, Vi Thi Quyen, said that all 15 villages of Muong Tip Commune are still completely isolated.

The only road leading to the commune was washed away in many sections by floodwaters, and internal roads were also seriously eroded, completely cutting off traffic.

Faced with the complicated flood situation, Nghe An Border Guard mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers, implementing the "4 on-site" motto, supporting the evacuation of people, moving assets, building temporary houses and transporting essential supplies to isolated areas.
