Accordingly, from today (July 25), traffic police nationwide will simultaneously launch a general inspection of transport vehicles on all roads and inland waterways.
On the roads, the authorities will focus on passenger vehicles with 8 seats or more and vehicles carrying construction materials, container trucks, semi-trailers, and large trucks running long routes.
Hanoi traffic police control passenger vehicles.
The inspection will focus on key national highways and expressways; steep, winding mountain passes with limited visibility; areas at risk of traffic accidents, where cars often violate regulations by stopping, picking up and dropping off passengers. Check the operating conditions of the vehicle; check the journey monitoring device, the device that records images of the driver; check the images stored on the device (using phones or electronic devices, not wearing seat belts while driving, driving past the prescribed time, stopping and picking up and dropping off passengers in violation of regulations...).
For drivers, the focus will be on handling violations of alcohol and drug levels; overloading, over-sized cargo, transporting goods without proper restraint; speeding, not following traffic light signals; driving in the wrong lane, going in the wrong direction, improperly avoiding or overtaking, not complying with regulations on giving way at road intersections; and violations of road transport activities.
On waterways, authorities will focus on controlling water vehicles, vehicle owners, crew members, drivers, and organizations and individuals doing business in waterway transportation.
Traffic police check vehicles on inland waterways.
The inspection will focus on key waterways for freight and passenger transport; routes with seaports, fishing ports, passenger ports, passenger wharves; lakes, irrigation and hydroelectric dams with complex waterway traffic activities; points of assembly and loading and unloading of goods; points with tourism activities, festivals, entertainment, recreation, and overnight accommodation on inland waterways.
The authorities will establish strong working groups, equipped with weapons, support tools, vehicles, and technical equipment to inspect, control, detect, and strictly handle violations. In case the vehicle cannot be stopped for inspection and handling, it must be verified and notified of "cold" penalties according to regulations.
According to the Traffic Police Department, through the general control of vehicles, the authorities will have a firm grasp of the situation of transport business activities; compliance with the provisions of the law on traffic safety, and regulations on transport activities of organizations and individuals (vehicle owners) doing transport business on each route and locality.
Along with that, the traffic police force will organize propaganda and sign commitments with drivers and vehicle owners. Create positive changes to raise awareness and compliance with traffic safety laws and regulations on transportation activities.
According to the Traffic Police Department, any shortcomings, difficulties, and problems in state management of transportation business activities will be recommended to the authorities for timely solutions...
