Unique 'rock wonder' on the coast in Quang Tri

Located close to the coast, Da Nhay beach in Quang Tri makes a strong impression with its multi-shaped rocks. It is the unique combination of geology, ocean waves and time that has created this one-of-a-kind “rock wonder”.

Da Nhay is one of the special beaches, located at the foot of Ly Hoa pass, in Hai Phu commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province (old), now Bac Trach commune, Quang Tri province, about 25km north of Dong Hoi ward center (new).

This location is right on Highway 1A, an ideal stop on your journey to explore the Central region.

There are many explanations for the name of this beach, such as because of the rocks and boulders scattered on the beach like jumping creatures or because the rocks are close together, making it easy for beachgoers to jump from one island to another.

Nature has cleverly carved out rocks with strange and rare shapes. Some rocks curve like an elephant's back, some look like a lion's head, and some look like stone chairs.

Bai Da Nhay has small beaches interspersed between rocky outcrops. This is an ideal stop for visitors to immerse themselves in the clear blue water or relax on the sandy shore.

Right in the middle of Da Nhay beach, there is a well that locals named "Toad". This name comes from the shape of the rock covering the mouth of the well, which looks like a toad. According to locals, to get water, you have to crawl deep inside to scoop up bowls of water.

They believe that this is a sacred well, so they often bring water back to offer to the Nam Hai Dai Vuong temple next to the Toad well to pray for good luck and express gratitude to the ocean.
