K50 waterfall is located in Binh Dinh hamlet, Son Lang commune, Gia Lai province, about 150km from Pleiku center. The waterfall belongs to the upper stream of Con river, flowing from Gia Lai province through the old Binh Dinh province. The name K50 also comes from the height of the waterfall, which is more than 50m.
Known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Central Highlands, K50 attracts tourists with its beauty that is both magnificent and majestic, yet gentle and soft.
K50 Waterfall is also known as Hang En Waterfall because behind the waterfall is a cave where thousands of wild swallows are living. From January to June, the weather is dry and pleasant, suitable for trekking, camping, and watching the waterfall. From July onwards, it will be the rainy season in the Central Highlands.
The landscape of K50, whether in the dry season or the rainy season, always amaze visitors. Photographer Ngoc Vu in Hanoi has been to K50 waterfall many times to take artistic photos. He shared, "At the end of July, I will travel to admire the season of red parasol flowers burning the entire forest."
The waterfall falls from a height of more than 50m like a giant column of water, the base of the waterfall splashes white foam creating an overwhelming natural scene.
Previously, to get to the waterfall, visitors had to trek through the forest and streams for about 7-8 hours, but now the road to K50 is much easier with concrete roads, motorbikes can go near the foot of the waterfall. Visitors do not need to trek, but can ride a bike and walk for another 20 minutes to get there.
Visitors to K50 waterfall can choose to trek through the forest for about 8km or rent a motorbike and walk 1km, the schedule is currently suitable for both adults and children. However, to experience it, you need to prepare suitable forest clothing, mosquito repellent, and waterproof gear for electronic devices.
From above, the waterfall looks like a sparkling white silk strip amidst the deep green of Kon Chu Rang mountains and forests. Early morning is the time when it is easy to see the scene of mist and clouds covering the K50 waterfall, when the sun rises, lucky visitors can also see a rainbow appear.
Not only K50 waterfall, Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve has many interesting things for visitors to explore with more than 10,000 hectares of primeval forest, rich flora and fauna and the rich life of the Ba Na people.
