Sharing with Dan Tri reporter about her special name, Mai Sao said that Nguyen Hoang is a combination of her father's and mother's last names. As for the name Mai Sao, her father wanted her to become a warm little light in the gray weather.
“Everywhere I go, people often ask me why my name is so long, so I seem to get more attention, which motivates me to do better.
Dad spent a lot of time thinking about the name, so I thought I shouldn't let him down," Mai Sao said.
Mai Sao was born in Son Dong district (old Bac Giang province), was a math student at Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province (old Bac Giang ).
Right from her first semester at the National Economics University, the female student set a goal of “working hard” to get a scholarship. “When people become students, they either work part-time or study to get a scholarship. I chose to study to gain knowledge and have scholarship money to help my parents,” Mai Sao said.

When I lost my way, I ran back to my mother.
Sharing her study secrets, Mai Sao said that whether studying in high school or university, first of all, she must be diligent, especially studying before going to class.
With the characteristics of a specialized math class, female students do not have to take many notes but focus on solving exercises. In college, instead of thinking to solve math problems, Mai Sao switched to diligently taking notes in lectures.
Especially every Sunday, I will schedule what to do for the following week, making sure everything during the week is fully planned.
In addition to studying with teachers at school, female students spend time reading books in the library and researching documents online.
The female student said that setting the goal of getting a scholarship every semester, partly because of her natural desire to be the best, and partly to help her parents, put her under a lot of pressure.
“My mother is a retired civil servant, my father sells small items at home. In addition to tuition fees, my parents give me about 3-4 million VND per month, I need a scholarship to cover the expenses.
Putting too much pressure on myself sometimes makes me feel unstable. At times like that, I take a bus back to my hometown, have a meal with my mother, and sleep with her for a few days as a way to relax my mind and help me calmly reorganize everything," the female student said.

Regarding the reason for choosing auditing, Mai Sao said that this is a hard and moving industry, which suits her interests. She does not know what the future holds, but for now, the female student is very excited to be working officially.
It is known that since her third year of university, after passing many rounds such as: application review, knowledge test, 2-1 interview, Mai Sao became an intern at Deloitte auditing company.
According to the female student, the selection rounds here are quite harsh, with about 500 applications but the company only selected 10 people.
Luckily, this coming September, the female student will be officially accepted to work at the auditing company Deloitte Vietnam. The practical experience of working in a professional environment helps Mai Sao better understand the pressure, responsibility and value of the profession.
Evaluating this female student, Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, Director of the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality Training and POHE, National Economics University, said that Mai Sao is an outstanding student, not only in academics but also outstanding for many achievements.
He was very impressed with Mai Sao's entry into the top 50 of the 2025 political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, showing that she is not only good at her profession but also politically and ideologically strong - a quality that is very necessary for today's young intellectual generation.
Dr. Ngoc also believes that she will continue to shine in her upcoming career path and actively contribute to the development of the country.
On July 21, the National Economics University held a ceremony to award official graduation certificates in 2025 to 1,809 new graduates of the High Quality, POHE and Business Analysis programs.
Professor Pham Hong Chuong, Director of the National Economics University, considers this a special milestone because this generation of students has been heavily affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
“Today, your student song has reached its final notes to open another song with hope. The world is going through extremely complicated turns, but I believe you will apply your learning skills well to apply them in life.
Your graduation certificates today are the most meaningful gift for your families and loved ones. The road ahead is full of opportunities, but wherever and however, I always believe that among you there will be many who will pass on the torch to future generations,” said Professor Chuong.
