On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), on the morning of July 21, at Doc Ba Dac Martyrs Cemetery (Thoi Son Ward, An Giang Province), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Central and local delegations attended the memorial service and burial of the remains of 81 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia and in the country.
These are the martyrs whose remains were searched for and collected by the An Giang province during the dry season of 2024 - 2025. Of these, 80 martyrs were buried at Doc Ba Dac Martyrs Cemetery and 1 martyr's remains were received by relatives to be brought back to their hometown for burial.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates expressed their deep gratitude to the outstanding sons of the Fatherland who heroically fought and sacrificed for the peace , independence and unity of the Fatherland, the happiness and prosperity of the people and the noble international duty.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the whole country is joining hands and unanimity with the entire political system, the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army to overcome all difficulties and challenges to protect, build and develop the country; confidently entering a new era of rich, strong, civilized and prosperous development, worthy of the people's wishes and the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations.
The Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the officers and soldiers of Military Region 9 who did not fear hardships and dangers to excellently complete the sacred task of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains assigned by the Party, State and people.

Currently, the country has 23 teams searching for and collecting martyrs' remains, carrying out tasks domestically and in Laos and Cambodia; in which the teams searching for and collecting martyrs' remains of Military Region 9 are assigned to carry out tasks domestically and in Cambodia.
From 2001 to present, officers and soldiers of Military Region 9, including Teams K90, K91, K92, K93, have searched for and collected 11,533 martyrs' remains (in Cambodia, 8,188 martyrs' remains, 561 of whom have been identified; in Vietnam, 3,345 martyrs' remains, 264 of whom have been identified) to hand over to localities for memorial and burial ceremonies.
