According to the list of candidates meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024 announced by the State Council of Professors, Ho Chi Minh City National University is the unit with the most qualified candidates with 40 people, including 7 professors and 33 associate professors.
The majors with qualified professor candidates at thiseducational institution include: Mechanics, Chemistry - Food Technology (2 people), Metallurgy, Biology, History - Archeology - Ethnology/Anthropology; Mathematics, Medicine.
Hanoi National University ranked second nationwide with 34 recognized candidates, including 6 professors and 28 associate professors. Looking at the units under Hanoi National University, the University of Natural Sciences had the most qualified candidates with 11 associate professors, the University of Technology had 1 professor, 5 associate professors, etc.
Can Tho University ranked third in the country in terms of the number of candidates meeting the standards for professor and associate professor titles with 26 people. In terms of university size, this is the university with the most new professors and associate professors, including 4 professors and 22 associate professors. Last year, this university also had 25 people meeting the standards for professor and associate professor titles.
The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is ranked 4th, with 23 candidates recognized as qualified, including 4 professors and 19 associate professors. This number is equivalent to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, which also has 23 people, including 2 professors and 21 associate professors.
Thai Nguyen University and Hue University each have 21 candidates recognized as qualified, while Da Nang University has 19.
Meanwhile, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering has 16 people recognized as qualified, ranking 9th in the country, and 2nd in terms of university size.
By field, Economics is the field with the most qualified candidates for professor and associate professor this year with 100 people. However, this year, there are quite a few universities specializing in economics in the group of units with the largest number of recognized candidates.
Medicine ranked next with 71 people. In this field, Hanoi Medical University leads in the number of recognized candidates but has no professor candidates.
In terms of hometown, Hanoi is the locality with the most candidates recognized as meeting the standards of professor and associate professor in 2024.
