Da Nang completed the removal of 2,037 temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of schedule.

DNO - On the afternoon of June 26, speaking at the conference to summarize the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh emphasized that after a period of active implementation, the work to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the city was completed 2 months ahead of schedule compared to the set plan.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee acknowledged, commended and congratulated the units and localities that have made many efforts in mobilizing and implementing support for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. The city leaders noted that localities need to complete, store and manage the records of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in full in the conditions of implementing a two-level government.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to pay attention to social security work, focus on supporting livelihoods, taking care of people's lives, especially reviewing degraded apartment buildings to have plans for relocation, speeding up the progress of social housing projects. The Front and associations and unions continue to pay attention to and care for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups, worthy of the image of a city with "3 yes" and "4 safe".

The report at the conference said that in 2024 and 2025, the total approved need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is 2,037 houses, including: 373 newly built houses, 1,664 repaired houses. Of which, 1,032 are households with meritorious services, 573 are poor households, 94 are near-poor households, and 338 are households.

To date, the city has completed the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses with 2,037 houses, 2 months ahead of the schedule compared to Plan No. 06/KH-BCD of the City Party Committee's Steering Committee on the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the city. As of June 12, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have received 24.44 billion VND donated by units, organizations and individuals.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels coordinated with associations and organizations to mobilize more than 5,500 working days from the youth union, women's union, ward militia, border guards, etc. to support people in building and repairing houses.

In addition to the support level prescribed by the Central Government (60 million VND/newly built house and 30 million VND/repaired house), the city increases the level of financial support for new construction and house repair for households with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs, poor households, and near-poor households.

Specifically, for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives, the level is 100 million VND/newly built house and 40 million VND/repaired house. For poor and near-poor households, the level is 80 million VND/newly built house and 30 million VND/repaired house. For households, the level remains 60 million VND/newly built house and 30 million VND/repaired house.

The total budget for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in 2024 and 2025 is VND 81,145 billion, of which the city budget is VND 53,269 billion; the Fund for the Poor is VND 17,011 billion; the Fund for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is VND 12,240 billion.

In addition, the city supported 71 billion VND to Hau Giang province and 16 billion VND to Quang Nam province to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city used the Fund for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses to support the construction of 10 new houses for poor and near-poor households in Ea Le commune (Ea Sup district, Dak Lak province), totaling 600 million VND.

On this occasion, the City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 groups and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. At the same time, certificates of merit were awarded to 29 groups and 23 individuals with achievements in performing tasks in the first 6 months of 2025.
