"Breathing life" into propaganda posters
Sharing about the idea of the work, Nha said: "I thought about the image of the youth of the country today. Our youth today must not only have the good qualities of Vietnamese youth But we must also flexibly grasp technology to be able to lead the country to integrate - develop - innovate".
From there, Nha's essay focuses on the image of young people proudly standing in front of the national flag, their eyes looking straight ahead, carrying the determination and strong spirit of Vietnamese youth.
The biggest difficulty in Nha's design exam was how to express an idea that was profound but concise, concise, and true to the spirit of a propaganda poster: not rambling, not confusing, not vague. That is what made Nha practice and constantly improve her personal aesthetic ability to know "correct and sufficient" for a design.
In the 8-hour exam room, with nothing but herself and the computer, Nha had to think and solve the questions she didn’t know in advance. Without access to the internet, only allowed to use the images provided by the Organizing Committee, Nha had to carefully screen to find the photo that could be the main image.
“The first time I saw the photo that was being used as the main highlight, I knew this was the photo I needed, but unfortunately it had a rather low resolution. I used a tool to increase the resolution and fixed this problem,” Nha shared.
After processing the main image, the rest such as title text layout, sub-text, and decorative elements are arranged by Nha reasonably to increase coherence without causing confusion.

Creativity from the smallest details
Nha said that she started to love drawing since first grade, but at that time it was just drawing based on her feelings. "It wasn't until I went to university that my teachers taught me what graphic design was, not just drawing beautifully but also the arrangement, composition and rules," Nha shared.
Through each lecture and each revision, Nhan has increasingly matured in design thinking, focusing on creativity from the smallest details, fully equipped with the foundation to pursue a professional design career.
"Teachers mainly focus on cultivating my analytical and design thinking skills. I myself also actively cultivate my personal aesthetic by watching and learning from propaganda posters," Nha shared.
The ACP World Championship 2025 is organized to raise awareness and create conditions for Vietnamese students to access graphic design skills according to international standards; promote international exchange and integration activities for young people. |
After the competition, the biggest message I want to convey through my work is that Vietnamese youth need to be solid in the necessary skills to enter the new era. "More deeply, young people like me need to proactively use technology and professional design software to tell a story in a more meaningful and humane way," Nha shared.
Minh Nha also won the Encouragement Prize in the poster design competition on the topic of water environment protection at the 2nd China ASEAN International Competition on Water Resources and Electric Power organized by China and ASEAN.
