According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in the first 8 months of 2025, the capital welcomed about 21.58 million visitors, an increase of 13.9% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors reached nearly 5 million (up 25.8%), domestic visitors reached more than 16.6 million (up 10.7%). Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 85.8 trillion VND, up 17.1%.

In August alone, Hanoi recorded 3.18 million visitors, an increase of 27.5% over the same period last year. This is considered an important stepping stone, creating momentum for the tourism industry to make a breakthrough in the peak season at the end of the year.

By the end of August, Hanoi had 3,761 accommodation establishments with more than 71,000 rooms; the average hotel occupancy rate reached 59%. The city currently has 2,643 travel agencies, over 9,200 tour guides and 58 qualified service establishments serving tourists.

In addition to the growth in the number of visitors, Hanoi has implemented many solutions to develop products, promote and train human resources. Notable activities include: Sending a delegation to participate in the 2025 World Expo and promoting Hanoi tourism in Japan; working with Emirates Airlines to promote the strengths and potential for tourism development in Hanoi and implementing tourism promotion programs along the airline's flight routes departing from Hanoi.

In September and the last months of the year, Hanoi continues to launch the new product "Hanoi Tourism - Convergence of Essence 2025", organize the Autumn Festival, Ao Dai Festival, organize the Hanoi Beverage Festival 2025... At the same time, the city participates in the ITB India Fair (India) and the Vietnam tourism promotion program in India; the IFTM Topresa International Tourism Fair and tourism development cooperation in France in 2025.

The sector promotes the development of community tourism associated with agriculture and rural areas between Hanoi and the provinces in the Central - Central Highlands region; completes the Project to innovate the organizational model, management methods, conservation and promotion of the value of Huong Son relic site. In particular, the sector coordinates to participate in activities and events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

The positive results of the past 8 months are a testament to the attractiveness of the Capital, showing the orientation of sustainable development, building Hanoi into one of the leading destinations in the region.
