At the 7th National Book Awards ceremony, the Organizing Committee selected and awarded 58 works. Among them, the research work Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City: Long Mile of History (1698-2020) by researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu (published by Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House) was awarded the A prize. The work consists of 2 thick volumes, more than 1,500 pages, conveying a valuable amount of information about the land of Gia Dinh - Saigon in the past, Ho Chi Minh City today.

This work was formed, continuously supplemented and updated for more than 20 years by author Nguyen Dinh Tu. Before boarding the train (he likes to take the train to see the beautiful scenery of the country) to Hanoi to attend the National Book Award held on the evening of November 29 at the Opera House, researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu welcomed Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai at his home. Comrade Phan Van Mai asked about his health and congratulated the 104-year-old researcher for his work about the land and people of Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City, which was awarded the 7th National Book Award. Previously, researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu also received the A prize of the first National Book Award, held in 2018, with the work series French Colonialism in Cochinchina (1859-1954) consisting of 2 volumes. Researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu signed for comrade Phan Van Mai three long stories Nguyen Xi, Reason for Living and Stepmother, My Stepchild, which were recently published by Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House.
