Add up to 4 points for candidates with IELTS to apply to schools

National Economics University adds 0.75 points to all candidates with international English certificates, regardless of high or low scores. For example, candidates with IELTS 5.5 or 9.0 will receive the same 0.75 points. In addition, candidates can convert IELTS and foreign language certificates into component scores. If they get 5.5 IELTS, the school converts it to 8/10 points; if they get 7.5 IELTS or more, candidates will be counted as 10.

Hanoi National University of Education adds 1-3 points to candidates with IELTS 6.5 or higher when applying for English pedagogy, Math, Physics, and Chemistry pedagogy majors taught in English. For the high school graduation exam, if the candidate has an IELTS certificate of 4.0 or higher, he/she is exempted from the English exam.

Hanoi University of Culture adds 1-3 points to candidates with English certificates, the maximum level applies to 6.5 IELTS or equivalent or higher.

Previously, in the admission plan in March, Hanoi University of Culture said it would add 3 points on a 30-point scale to candidates with an English certificate of 4.0 IELTS or higher. This caused a reaction, because when converted to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework, the above score is only equivalent to level 3/6 or B1, which is the output standard of high school graduates.

This year, Hanoi University will add bonus points to candidates with foreign language certificates, ranging from 1-4, but not exceeding 10% of the total admission score. For example, candidates will be given a minimum of 1 point if they have IELTS 6.0 and a maximum of 4 points if they achieve 8.0-9.0.

The University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, announces that it will add points to candidates with English certificates in all admission methods. Candidates need to submit proof of additional points before July 5.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Law also announced to add 2-3 points to candidates with IELTS certificates from 5.5-7.5 or higher and other equivalent certificates, for candidates applying for admission by combining high school academic results with international foreign language certificates or SAT exam results.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education adds 0.5-1 point for candidates with IELTS certificate from 4.5-7.0 or higher and other equivalent certificates when participating in the admission process based on academic records for English-taught programs.

International University, Ho Chi Minh City National University will give bonus points to candidates with international English certificates IELTS 5.5 or higher. If candidates have chosen to convert their English scores, they will not receive bonus points for their English certificates.
