Recently, a clip of only ten seconds long has been circulating on social media, recording a female tourist feeding fish in the West. The clip has attracted more than 10 million views and thousands of comments in just a short time.
What makes the clip go viral is not the familiar river scene or the garden experience, but the reaction of the catfish when being fed.
As soon as the handfuls of food were dropped into the water, hundreds of catfish emerged simultaneously, opening their mouths to fight for them, creating a chaotic scene. The black mouths, wide open and constantly moving, reminded many people of scenes from horror movies.
The clip of feeding catfish attracted more than 10 million views on TikTok ( Video : Character provided).
Below the clip, netizens left comments, expressing their horror and obsession. Many admitted that just a glimpse of the image of the catfish opening its mouth was enough to give them "goosebumps", and they even had to quickly scroll away to avoid looking at it for too long.
Many comments said they felt "creepy" and haunted when witnessing this scene, especially those with trypophobia. Some people wrote: "Anyone with trypophobia would probably faint on the spot", or "It's like an underwater horror movie"...
Not only that, the clip also attracted comments from social media accounts abroad with expressions of surprise and astonishment.
The owner of this clip is Ms. Bao Ngoc (HCMC). Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Ngoc said that the clip was recorded by her during a trip to Thoi Son islet (new Dong Thap, formerly Tien Giang province) not long ago.

Ms. Ngoc shared that the catfish farming area is one of the attractions for tourists coming to the islet. Catfish are raised mainly to feed crocodiles. However, when there are many visitors, the locals allow tourists to feed the fish freely, creating the scene as in the clip.
"I went on a tour of the West and came to Thoi Son islet when I saw that scene. When I was feeding the fish, I was a bit scared, so I filmed it and posted it online. I didn't expect the clip to attract so many viewers," she said.
She also added that the tour to visit the islet she joined departed from Ho Chi Minh City, lasted all day (from 8am to 6pm) and cost 450,000 VND/person.
The tour includes lunch and offers many exciting activities such as listening to traditional music, enjoying fruit in the garden, visiting a coconut candy factory, drinking honey tea, interacting with pythons and especially the "impressive" catfish feeding show.

Thoi Son Islet (also known as Thoi Son Islet) located in the middle of Tien River has long been known as a typical destination for eco- tourism in the Western garden region, attracting thousands of domestic and foreign visitors every year.
Without being staged or heavily advertised, Thoi Son islet still attracts tourists with its rustic, intimate nature and simple, friendly people.

Currently, from Ho Chi Minh City, there are many units organizing tours to Thoi Son islet with flexible schedules, from half-day tours, day tours to tours combining other destinations such as Cai Rang floating market (Can Tho), My Tho (Dong Thap)...
Tour prices range from 400,000 to 800,000 VND/person, suitable for many different groups of guests, from foreign tourists to young families and groups of friends looking to experience the West.
