Chelsea recruits young talent for 55 million pounds

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign young talent Jamie Bynoe-Gittens this summer.

Gittens is Chelsea's next summer signing.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee for Gittens is around £55 million. Previously, Chelsea's offer of £42 million was rejected by Dortmund. Gittens is expected to complete the medical examination on June 29 before officially becoming a member of "The Blues".

Chelsea are targeting Gittens ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup™ in the United States. However, the English club are waiting for negotiations and agreement from Dortmund.

The departure of Jadon Sancho and the possible arrival of Joao Felix has opened the door for Gittens to join Stamford Bridge. Manager Enzo Maresca is pleased to have secured one of his top targets ahead of the new season.

Since joining Dortmund in 2020, Gittens has scored 17 goals in 107 appearances, including 76 in the Bundesliga. Although he has yet to make his England debut, the 20-year-old will be hoping to impress coach Thomas Tuchel and earn a place in the 2026 World Cup squad.

After completing his medical, Gittens will be registered by Chelsea to play in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup™. However, the possibility of this young talent playing is unlikely as he needs time to adapt to his teammates and new playing style.
