Apple CEO Tim Cook arrives in Vietnam by private plane

Early this morning, April 15, Apple CEO Tim Cook arrived in Hanoi by private plane. According to the schedule, the CEO of Apple technology company will have 2 working days in Vietnam. He will meet with a number of Vietnamese content creators and programmers.

As soon as he arrived in the capital Hanoi, Tim Cook shared that Apple always strives to build deep connections and bring more benefits to the people where Apple operates. "From collaborating with local suppliers, to supporting clean water projects andeducational opportunities, we are committed to continuing to strengthen connections in Vietnam," said the Apple CEO.

Apple CEO Tim Cook also had many compliments when talking about the country and people of Vietnam. He emphasized that "there is no place like Vietnam, a vibrant and beautiful country".

Since its launch in Vietnam, Apple has supported more than 200,000 direct and indirect jobs through its supply chain and iOS ecosystem. In a previous announcement on its website, Apple said it would increase spending on suppliers in Vietnam. The company has spent nearly VND400 trillion since 2019 through its local supply chain and more than doubled its annual spending in Vietnam during the same period.

Apple has also partnered with global clean water organization Gravity Water to install advanced rainwater harvesting systems in schools in Hoa Binh Province. With Apple’s support, the organization is on track to reach its goal of reaching 131 schools by the end of April, providing safe, reliable water year-round to more than 42,000 students, teachers, and their families.

In addition to clean water, Apple’s Power for Impact initiative is also working to bring clean energy to rural schools. Apple is partnering with the TRE Foundation to install solar panels in 20 schools in rural Vietnam, while also supporting sustainability and STEM education for children.

This year, Apple will expand its Disability Apprenticeship program to promote inclusion and provide greater opportunities for people with disabilities in the supply chain.

Apple also supports students and teachers in STEM education with programming and app development resources in Vietnamese, including Apple's Swift Playgrounds app and the Everyone Can Code project.
