Arsenal reach agreement to sign £52m new signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea

According to The Athletic , Chelsea have accepted an offer from Arsenal for the 23-year-old. Madueke is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Emirates, becoming part of coach Mikel Arteta's plan to upgrade his attack.

However, the deal has been met with opposition from the North London club’s own fans. Last season’s statistics have raised concerns, with Madueke scoring just seven goals and providing three assists in the Premier League, while Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli both had better records. The hashtag #NoToMadueke is spreading on social media and more than 2,000 fans have signed a petition against the player born in 2002.

Many fans believe that Madueke's signing is an unnecessary move, especially when the Viktor Gyokeres deal suddenly changed. Sporting are not accepting the Gunners' payment method and are demanding a larger immediate payment. The club is still £4.3 million short of meeting the Portuguese partner's £68.9 million price tag.

Returning to Madueke, he joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven for £28.5 million in January 2023, scoring 20 goals in 92 games for the Blues. Although highly regarded by Arteta for his versatility on both wings, his lackluster performances have left many Arsenal fans doubting the success of this deal.
