Successfully removed nearly 3kg fibroid tumor in patient's abdomen

On July 5, Soc Trang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital announced that it had successfully removed a uterine fibroid weighing nearly 3kg from a woman's abdomen.

Previously, Soc Trang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital received female patient NTBX (48 years old, residing in My Tu district, Soc Trang province).

Female patient X. was admitted to the hospital with pain in the right lower abdomen, intermittent pain, increasing in severity, accompanied by vomiting.

Immediately afterwards, the doctors conducted paraclinical tests and diagnosed the patient with large degenerative uterine fibroids in the broad ligament, with complex adhesions.

Doctors performed surgery to open the broad ligament to remove the fibroid from the abdomen. After nearly 2 hours of surgery, the team of doctors successfully removed the fibroid weighing nearly 3kg from the woman's abdomen.

After surgery, the patient was awake, vital signs were stable, the surgical wound was dry and he was recovering well. The patient can now sit up, do light exercise in place and will be discharged in the next few days.
