Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) takes Phu Quoc is the focal point, connecting with major economic and tourist centers in the country such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and other key cities. For the international market, Sun PhuQuoc Airways aims to connect Phu Quoc with major cities and leading tourist centers in Asia, including destinations in Japan, Korea, China and some other potential markets in the region, expanding the flight network to potential tourist markets such as Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Australia.
This is an airline brand invested and developed bySun Group Corporation. The project has a total operating period of 50 years, with an investment scale of 2,500 billion VND (equivalent to about 98.81 million USD), of which the investor's capital contribution is 1,000 billion VND. The airline's main operating center is located at Van Don International Airport, Quang Ninh province. It is known that the airline is in the process of approaching and negotiating with Boeing to buy aircraft. In the first phase, the airline will use narrow-body Airbus aircraft such as A320, A321.
The period from March to December 2025 is identified as the investment preparation stage, completing human resources, technical systems and legal procedures according to regulations. If conditions are favorable, the airline plans to open ticket sales at the end of October 2025 and aims to conduct the first commercial flight as soon as possible. At the time of licensing, Sun PhuQuoc Airways completed pre-operational stages including: Researching the operating model, standardizing safety procedures and building a human resource capacity framework.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways was born in the context that Phu Quoc is affirming its position as a leading resort tourism center in Asia and one of the most prominent new destinations in the world by 2025 according to the assessment of global tourism organizations. The official licensing of Sun PhuQuoc Airways also takes place in the context that Phu Quoc is urgently preparing for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC 2027) - a large-scale international event, welcoming thousands of delegates, senior leaders and businessmen from 21 APEC member economies.
With the addition of a new airline, the aviation market is not only supplemented with new capacity, but also promotes the shift from “convenience aviation” to “resort aviation” - which has been taking place strongly in pioneering tourism markets in the region.
