On July 6, Can Tho City launched a display and sales point for OCOP products, located at Nha Be noodle shop, on Cai Rang floating market.
This is an activity within the framework of the series of events of the 7th Cai Rang Floating Market Cultural Tourism Festival in 2023, leading up to activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Can Tho City under the Central Government.
“Cai Rang floating market is one of the city’s tourist attractions, attracting a large number of visitors. However, in recent times, the products on the floating market have not been diverse, especially OCOP specialty products that have not spread to business locations,” said Mr. Tran Thai Nghiem, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Can Tho City.

OCOP products attract many tourists |
In recent times, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Can Tho City has organized many activities to introduce and promote OCOP products. At the same time, it has promoted the connection of OCOP products to tourist businesses, restaurants, hotels, and tourist attractions in the area. In particular, it focuses on connecting OCOP products to the tourism business system on Cai Rang floating market.
This approach not only promotes the unique cultural values through the trading activities on the river of the Mekong Delta people, but also contributes to diversifying products on Cai Rang floating market. Thereby, creating conditions for business owners and tourists to access quality specialty products.

“The typical OCOP products of Can Tho City have the advantage of being diverse in types, with carefully designed and printed packaging, which is a big plus for me to decide to do business,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Truc, owner of Nha Be Noodle Shop. Currently, Nha Be Noodle Shop has connected 10 business entities to develop OCOP products of Can Tho City.
Currently, Can Tho City has 92 OCOP products. In the period of 2023 - 2025, the city's agricultural sector expects OCOP products to become one of the vibrant rural economic development programs. The agricultural sector is focusing on supporting entities to continue improving quality and packaging. At the same time, it organizes linkages, promotes, expands the market, and the image of Can Tho City's OCOP products reaches far and wide.
