Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet’s students also made a significant impression in this historic appearance. Despite facing a highly skilled team, currently ranked 3rd in the world, Poland, the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team still won one set.
We led the Polish women's team 1-0 after the first half. Then, with their class and experience, the Polish women's team beat the Vietnamese women's team 3-1.
Due to losing to a very strong opponent at the world championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was deducted very few points after last night's match. Specifically, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team was only deducted 0.01 points. We still maintain our world ranking of 22nd.

This is a pretty high ranking. At least, in Group G, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is still one place higher than the Kenyan team (Kenya is ranked 23rd in the world). At the same time, we are quite far ahead of Egypt (ranked 54th in the world). Egypt is the lowest ranked team among the teams participating in this year's world championship.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is only one place behind the Thai women's team (Thailand is ranked 21st in the world). Thailand is the top team in Asia. The Thai women's volleyball team has experience competing in world championships.
After the match against Poland last night, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has two more matches in the group stage of this year's tournament, against the German women's team on August 25 and against the Kenyan women's team on August 27.
