Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City Club, which has just participated in V-League 2024-2025, will change its name to CA Ho Chi Minh City Club, recreating the once-famous name of Vietnamese football.
The home field of the new HCMC FC will be Go Dau Stadium (formerly known as Binh Duong Stadium), while the home field of CA HCMC FC will be Thong Nhat Stadium. HCMC will have two teams participating in the 2025-2026 V-League.
CA TPHCM Club’s first match in the V-League next season will be against Hanoi FC, at home. And HCMC Club’s first match will be against HAGL on the opponent’s field.

Another notable match in the first round of V-League 2025-2026 is the match between Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) and Viettel The Cong Club, at Hang Day Stadium. Meanwhile, defending champion Nam Dinh will face Hai Phong Club.
Unlike the most recent seasons, V-League 2025-2026 will have two direct relegation slots, for the two teams at the bottom of the table.
In previous seasons, the tournament only had one direct relegation spot and one play-off spot. V-League 2025-2026 will open on August 15 and last until June 20, 2026.
