In 2025, the Ben Tre Provincial Border Guard Training Battalion (now Vinh Long Provincial Border Guard) received 135 new soldiers from the Ben Tre and Ho Chi Minh City Border Guards.
During the training period, soldiers are trained in basic knowledge according to the 3-month program of the Ministry of National Defense and trained in a 1.5-month program specializing in border defense and guarding operations.
In unfavorable weather conditions, the system of training grounds and training grounds still has many limitations, which has somewhat affected the quality of the unit's training work. However, with the attention and direction of the Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial Border Guard Command and the efforts of the staff and soldiers, after more than 4 months of training, the plan of the General Staff and the Border Guard Command was completed. As a result, 99.7% met the requirements, of which 83.7% were good (17.73% were excellent). The training unit achieved good results.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Doan Minh Trung - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard acknowledged and commended the efforts of the Party Committee, the Training Battalion Commander and especially the officers and soldiers who have tried to overcome all difficulties, completed the content of the program and plan for training new soldiers in 2025 to ensure absolute safety. The Commander of the Provincial Border Guard hopes that, after being mobilized to work units, new soldiers must maintain a firm ideological and political stance, maintain revolutionary ethics, internal unity, strictly abide by the laws of the State, military discipline, actively cultivate qualities and working capacity, flexibly and creatively apply the knowledge they have learned to practical work, promote the qualities and traditions of the Border Guard, strive to complete all assigned tasks well.
On this occasion, the Provincial Border Guard awarded certificates of merit to 7 groups and 21 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2025 new soldier training course.
