Việt NamViệt Nam09/09/2024

The Domestic Market Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) said that gasoline supply is still guaranteed in localities affected by storm Yagi.

According to the Domestic Market Department, about 85% of gas stations in Hai Phong were affected by Typhoon Yagi. About 60-65% of gas stations have resumed operations since September 7. The rest are expected to need another 2-3 days to fix the problem and resume sales.

"The stores here have prepared enough goods to serve people after the storm. The system of 9 warehouses, with 450,000 m3 of gasoline and oil, is enough to supply production, business and consumption in Hai Phong," said the Domestic Market Department.

Similarly, in Quang Ninh, Bac Giang , Son La, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, gas stations ensure fuel supply for people.

However, some areas in Hai Duong still have no electricity, so gas stations have to run generators and do not issue electronic invoices. In Yen Bai, 3 gas stations were flooded due to rising floodwaters.

Previously, many petroleum businesses, especially in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, suffered damage due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi. According to the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), which accounts for half of the market share, its offices, warehouses, oil ports, export terminals and more than 50 stores in the northern region were damaged. Today, all of their local petroleum stores have been repaired.

On September 8, Quang Ninh people queue for gas at some Petrolimex stores, when electricity has not been restored after the storm.

At the meeting on September 8, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien also requested the electricity sector to prioritize electricity supply for petroleum and essential goods supply systems. He also requested the Ministry of Information and Communications to restore telecommunications and Internet services to serve the supply of electricity, petroleum, etc.
