Bich Tuyen "carries the team"
Right after the final whistle, Bich Tuyen covered her face and burst into tears because she lost to Korabelka Club (Russia) for the second time in a row in the VTV Cup final. The coaching staff and teammates encouraged the Vietnamese women's volleyball team . The 2000-born spiker had an excellent match, but luck did not smile on the home team.
In this match, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team seemed to have to accept an early 3-set defeat like last year's final, but Bich Tuyen and her teammates played with great effort, at many times played really well, tying the score at 2-2. In the final 5th set, Bich Tuyen still "carried" the attack of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, but Korabelka was still the team that won the final score 3-2.
Despite successfully defending the championship, the team from Russia had to sweat to win. If the home team had been luckier, things would have been different. However, in competition, there is no "if", and it is clear that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still has inherent problems in step 1, depending heavily on Bich Tuyen and to some extent Thanh Thuy.
In the final match, Bich Tuyen had a very strong "team-carrying" performance with 47 points. The opposing setter born in 2000 was also the player who scored the most points in this match. Bich Tuyen played extremely well, but coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet needs to have more plans to share the burden with this hitter in the upcoming tournaments.
Thanh Thuy's beautiful action
When the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was about to receive the silver medal, the main striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy suddenly invited an elderly disabled fan to the field to take a photo with the team. The Vietnamese athletes also came forward to give flowers and thank the enthusiastic fans, along with nearly 3,000 spectators at Vinh Phuc Stadium (Phu Tho) who cheered on the home team throughout 5 emotional sets.
At VTV Cup 2025, in addition to the championship title belonging to Korabelka Club, the second place of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, the Organizing Committee awarded the title of excellent all-round athlete to Nesterova of Korabelka, the best Libero was awarded to Nguyen Khanh Dang, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy was voted the best Attacker, next to Bobrova Viktoriia (Korabelka).
Another player from the host Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, won the title of Best Opposite Setter. She was the main scorer for the home team in the final match as well as the entire tournament.
The Best Middle Blocker award went to Kang Ko Hui (Taiwan-China) and Palshina (Korabelka). Meanwhile, Filishtinskaia Irnia (Korabelka) received the Best Setter award. The title that was no less anticipated than the championship title, Miss VTV Cup 2025, was awarded to spiker Leila Jane Cruz (Philippines).
With the runner-up position of VTV Cup 2025, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team received a bonus of 7,000 USD. In addition, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, leaders of Phu Tho province, Vietnam Television, sponsors... also gave bonuses to the team and athlete Bich Tuyen. As of the evening of July 5, the bonus that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team received was nearly 400 million VND, with Bich Tuyen alone receiving a bonus of nearly 130 million VND.
