With the desire to bring a “spiritual gift” to children during the summer, Hai Phong Traditional Theater has painstakingly staged the play “The Swans” from European fairy tale material, combining traditional puppetry language and modern stage technology.
The story of the brave little girl Eliza overcoming danger to rescue her brothers who were turned into swans is told emotionally through each delicate, emotional puppet movement.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai emphasized: "Deeply aware of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on the role of children - the future owners of the country, our Party and State always put the protection, care andeducation of children in the central position, in order to create a safe, healthy and loving living environment for children to develop comprehensively in terms of physical, intellectual, spiritual and moral. Accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong has implemented a plan to coordinate the organization of the Month of Action for Children with the goal of creating conditions for children to participate in appropriate cultural, artistic and sports activities, promote their creativity, and at the same time cultivate their souls and nurture good life values."
Not only an entertainment product, “The Swans” also conveys a profound message about courage, family affection, sacrifice and the power of love – as affirmed by the Theater Director, Master Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy: “In each little soul, there is always a swan hidden within, carrying the desire to fly up and overcome the darkness”.
In particular, the Theater calls on the community, donors and businesses to join hands to sponsor free performances for disadvantaged children at SOS Children's Village, Hoa Phuong Children's School and social protection facilities. This is a practical action, spreading humanitarian values, contributing to creating a summer full of love for the less fortunate.
