In the first 9 months of the year, the district's socio-economic situation continued to be stable. Some areas achieved good results such as: Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached an estimated over 3,303 billion VND, reaching over 81% of the resolution, reaching 129% over the same period in 2023; job creation reached 106% of the plan... Cultural, educational and health activities were effectively implemented; social security policies were implemented promptly and to the right subjects. Border sovereignty, national defense, security and order were maintained; Party building and political system work were strengthened.
However, in the first 9 months of the year, Dien Bien district was severely affected by natural disasters: 360.87 hectares of rice, 28 hectares of corn and vegetables were damaged; 4,000 livestock and poultry died; 90 houses were damaged; 3 irrigation works were completely destroyed...
In the last 3 months of 2024, Dien Bien District Party Committee identified a number of key tasks: Continue to lead and direct the harvest of winter-spring rice to ensure progress; at the same time, prepare to direct the production of winter-spring crops in 2024 and winter-spring rice crops in 2024 - 2025. Continue to effectively implement the work of preventing natural disasters, epidemics, hunger and cold in livestock and crops; implement the plan to spray and vaccinate livestock and poultry. Promote the implementation of programs and projects such as: Developing agricultural and forestry production associated with new rural construction, OCOP, irrigation, domestic water, forest protection and development. Continue to research, appropriately and effectively apply policies and career capital to support production development of national target programs, integrated with other capital sources; encourage and attract businesses and cooperatives to participate in investment. By 2024, Dien Bien district strives to basically meet new rural standards.
