Ba Ria - Vung Tau announced preliminary benchmark scores for grade 10, highest is 21.25 points

(Dan Tri) - On the evening of June 15, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau announced the preliminary benchmark scores for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

The preliminary benchmark scores for each specific school are as follows:

The top 3 public high schools with the highest preliminary first-choice admission scores in Ba Ria - Vung Tau are Vung Tau High School (21.25 points), Nguyen Hue High School (19 points), and Nguyen Khuyen High School (17.25 points).

The top 3 schools with the lowest preliminary benchmark scores are Ngo Quyen High School (5.25 points); Phu My High School (6.5 points), Tran Phu High School (7.75 points).

This is the preliminary benchmark given by the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the preliminary benchmark may continue to change. The official benchmark is expected to be announced before June 25. The official benchmark will be given after the results of the re-examination are available.

For public high schools in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the admission score for grade 10 is calculated according to the following formula:

Admission score = math test score + literature test score + English test score + priority points (if any) + incentive points (if any).

For Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, the admission score for grade 10 is calculated according to the following formula:

Admission score = math test score + literature test score + English test score + specialized subject test score multiplied by coefficient 2.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the Departmentof Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau set a target of recruiting 12,780 public grade 10 students. This year, the whole area has 13,701 junior high school graduates registering to take the entrance exam to grade 10 at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted and other public high schools.

For Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, there are 955 candidates registering for their first choice (NV1), 251 candidates registering for their second choice (NV2). The school is assigned a target of recruiting 455 students.

In case candidates wish to review the results of the recent 10th grade entrance exam, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau requires high schools to clearly inform candidates about the review regulations, instruct candidates to fill out the application form and submit it to the high school where the candidates took the exam before 11:30 a.m. on June 19.

Schools compile the list of reviewers and submit it to the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau before 4:30 p.m. on June 19.
