Canadian police on March 8 provided initial information saying that 3 suspects who opened fire at a bar in Toronto are still on the run.
Canadian authorities said the shooting occurred on the opening night of the Piper Arms bar in Toronto at around 10:40 p.m. local time on March 7. Twelve people were injured, ranging in age from 20 to 60, with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Canada's CBC reported.
Police said three male suspects, one of whom was wearing a black hood, fled the scene in a white car. Officials said the suspects entered the bar and opened fire. Initial reports said the three suspects fled. Armed police, fire engines and ambulances were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting at the bar.

“This was a brazen act of violence that has shaken the local community and the city,” said Canadian police officer Paul MacIntyre. The suspect’s motive is not yet known. Police said they have mobilized all necessary resources to investigate the shooting and have set up a command post near the scene to assist in the investigation and capture of the suspect.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow has also been made aware of the incident and has sent her condolences to the victims and their families.
There have been 15 shootings near tow truck yards in Canada this year, including four this week, prompting police to investigate possible crimes targeting the towing industry. When asked if the bar shooting was linked to recent incidents targeting the towing industry, MacIntyre said it could be considered, though nothing is certain at this time.
