UNESCO is considering two more world heritage profiles of Vietnam.

The 47th session of the World Heritage Committee (1972 UNESCO Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage) is taking place in Paris (France).

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong and three experts in the Expert Group representing Vietnam at the World Heritage Committee, including: Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi Thu Hien, Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council; Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Chief of Office of the Department of Cultural Heritage.

At this session, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee focused on evaluating the nomination dossiers for the 2025 World Heritage Sites. Of which, Vietnam has 2 nomination dossiers including: Inter-provincial dossier of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex; multinational dossier of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and Hin Nam No National Park (Vietnam and Laos).

The meeting will also assess the protection of world heritage sites, including the conservation status of the Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi; the strategy for building human resources for world heritage; and updating the List of World Heritage Sites in Danger.
