“SILAA” is set mainly at famous landmarks such as Son Doong Cave, Dong Hoi (Quang Tri), Ninh Binh, Cao Bang , Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Ba Na and Hoi An (Da Nang city).

“SILAA is a highlight in the film relationship between the two countries, and is also the most effective way to enhance cultural cooperation and promote Vietnamese tourism,” said Mr. Rahul Bali.

At the same time, he called the film "an effort to introduce the beauty of Vietnam to the world through Indian cinema - Bollywood".

Omung Kumar, the main director of SILAA, conducted a survey trip to film locations in Phong Nha - Ke Bang in 2024, conquering some caves such as Son Doong cave, Tien cave...

“This is going to be the most magical and challenging film I have ever made… No film has ever been shot in this place. The survey trip for this film is definitely not for the faint-hearted…”, director Omung Kumar expressed.

SILAA is a project that continues the success of the film “Love in Vietnam” - the first co-production between Vietnam and India, which was just premiered at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANIFF) on July 1.

Previously, the film “Love in Vietnam” caused a big stir when it was announced at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

With a budget of up to 4 million USD (over 100 billion VND), the film features famous stars such as Kha Ngan (Vietnam), Avneet Kaur and Shantanu Maheshwari (India). The film was filmed at a series of famous landmarks such as Da Lat, Da Nang, Hoi An, Phu Yen, Nha Trang, Ha Long...

As planned, the film will continue to be released in a series of major markets such as North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and India... in September 2025.

From the success of Love in Vietnam and the promising start of the film project “SILAA”, Vietnamese cinema continues to be expected to become a bridge to bring the country’s image closer to international friends.

Cooperation with Bollywood - the world's second most influential film industry - not only opens up promotional opportunities but also creates a strong boost for Vietnam's film and tourism industries.
