From the fatal accident, arrested drug trafficker, weapons possession

Dong Phu Traffic Police Station, Traffic Police Department ( Binh Phuoc Provincial Police) has handed over Le Thanh Dam (18 years old, residing in Cat Tien district, Lam Dong province) to Bu Dang District Police to investigate and clarify the following acts: Driving a vehicle causing an accident leading to death, storing weapons and illegally transporting drugs.

Previously, at around 8:10 a.m. on October 25, Le Thanh Dam was driving a motorbike with license plate 71C1-493.82 on National Highway 14 (from Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province to Ho Chi Minh City) to km 934+700m (in Binh Loi village, Nghia Binh commune, Bu Dang district) when he collided with a motorbike with license plate 93B1-135.76 driven by Nguyen Van Y (41 years old, living in Bu Dang district). The collision caused Mr. Y to lose control and collide with a passenger bus 93B-005.06 coming from behind in the same direction. Afterwards, Mr. Y fell onto the road and died on the spot.

After the accident, the Traffic Police quickly arrived at the scene. Realizing that Dam was acting suspiciously, the police conducted a quick drug test and found him positive for drugs.

When checking Le Thanh Dam, the police discovered a revolver and 5 bullets; in his backpack were 2 packages of yellow crystals suspected to be drugs.

Initially, Le Thanh Dam confessed that he had used drugs about 3 days ago in Cat Tien district, Lam Dong province.

The subject Dam and the evidence were handed over to Bu Dang District Police for further investigation and clarification.
