Unique, distinct and pristine tourism resources
Unlike many localities with beaches or bustling urban centers, Cao Bang is marked by its pristine, majestic natural beauty, diverse ecosystems and a culture imbued with the identity of ethnic minorities. Typical tourist areas and spots continue to be favorite destinations for visitors such as: Pac Bo National Special Relic Site, which is associated with President Ho Chi Minh in the early days of returning to the country to lead the revolution, attracting a large number of students, cadres returning to the source and international visitors interested in Vietnamese history. Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area - the tourism symbol of the province, located on the Vietnam - China border, is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Southeast Asia, especially attracting visitors during the water pouring season and the October festival season. Experiential tourism routes in the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark, spread over an area of over 3,000 km², with a system of ancient limestone mountains, caves, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and archaeological sites hundreds of millions of years old.
Cao Bang tourism attracts tourists by its pristine beauty and rich culture of ethnic minorities.

Cao Bang is home to more than 95% of ethnic minorities, mainly Tay, Nung, Mong, Dao... Each community has a rich cultural treasure, from traditional festivals, indigenous cuisine to handicraft villages and folk arts. Then singing melodies, Tinh lute, sli resound throughout the mountains and forests; ethnic brocade costumes are hand-woven from natural materials, with patterns symbolizing mountains and forests, bearing a strong cultural imprint and demonstrating the ingenuity of ethnic minorities; rich and unique indigenous cuisine such as: sticky rice with canarium, sli cake, 7-flavor roasted duck, rice rolls, smoked sausage, chestnuts, corn wine... These are the "living materials" to develop community tourism, cultural tourism, experiential tourism, trends that are increasingly popular with young tourists and international visitors.
Towards green tourism - identity - sustainability
In the context of fierce competition in tourism, the province has clearly defined its orientation not to pursue quantity but to develop quality, associated with resource conservation, preservation of indigenous culture and sustainable development. The province has been building a set of criteria for developing green - safe - friendly tourism, promoting training of tourism human resources, especially for local communities directly involved in tourism in highland communes.
In 2025, the province aims to welcome 2.5 million visitors, of which domestic tourists will reach 2.3 million, with tourism revenue reaching 2,000 billion VND. These are completely feasible numbers if the current growth momentum is maintained. To achieve that goal, the province continues to synchronously implement many solutions: Developing tourism products associated with the UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark, promoting geological experience tours, trekking tours, and educational tourism for students. Investing in regional transport infrastructure. Currently, the province is speeding up the progress of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) Expressway Project, expecting to open a vital route to bring international visitors from the Chinese border to the provincial center and tourist destinations in just a few hours.
Support the community in building standard homestay models. Promote digital transformation of tourism, online booking platforms, digital tourism maps, and connect data systems with domestic and international travel agencies. Strengthen regional linkages with other provinces to form cross-provincial experiential, ecological, and heritage tourism routes. Promote tourism promotion to spread the image of Cao Bang to more widely domestic and foreign friends.
