According to the plan approved by the Hanoi People's Committee, the first-level enrollment period for the 2025-2026 school year will take place from July 1 to July 18, 2025. Hanoi will maintain two stable forms: online enrollment and direct enrollment.
Accordingly, online enrollment will be conducted from July 1 to July 3 for grade 1. Preschool enrollment will be from July 4 to July 6. Grade 6 enrollment will be from July 7 to July 9.
To register for online admission, parents of students access the Hanoi City Primary School Admissions Portal at: https://tsdaucap.hanoi.gov.vn/, follow the steps as instructed.
Parents of students who have not yet registered for online admission can register directly at the school from July 12 to July 18, 2025.
Hanoi continues to maintain the principle of enrolling students at the beginning of the school year according to the correct enrollment area, reducing the rate of students enrolling outside the enrollment area, and reducing the number of students per class.
Each student has a separate enrollment code issued by the school (previous students) from the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Parents must keep the enrollment code and access password confidential. When registering online, carefully check the student's personal information, the student's academic results at the previous level, residential address, etc. to ensure that the profile matches the electronic data updated to the system.
During the enrollment process, if parents need assistance, they can contact the homeroom teacher or the school (where they studied at the lower level) for guidance. Parents can also look up information and hotline support numbers at the Hanoi City primary enrollment portal. Schools that are enrolling students must also assign staff and teachers to answer questions from parents.
Previously, Hanoi had a regulation that schools (admission units) were not allowed to ask parents to confirm their place of residence. Schools had to make a list of students applying for admission by area and coordinate with the police at the commune and ward levels to verify the students' place of residence.
Hanoi's primary school enrollment this year is in the context of the whole country's restructuring of the local government apparatus. However, the leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training affirmed that even though the new government apparatus will operate from July 1, it will not disrupt the enrollment method and will not cause difficulties for people to register their children for school.
Previously, educational institutions were directed to prepare facilities, human resources, especially technology systems to meet online enrollment requirements from July 1.
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi plans to enroll 95,000 preschool children, 52,000 5-year-old kindergarten children, 155,000 first graders and 161,000 sixth graders.
