The entrance exam for grade 10 of the Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University took place on May 24-25. This is the only school in Ho Chi Minh City that organizes its own entrance exam, independent of the grade 10 entrance exam organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, and recruits candidates nationwide.
According to the school, this year there were 3,509 applications for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, nearly 9% less than last year. The number of candidates taking the exam was 3,375.
Although the number of applications fluctuates, the average competition ratio of the school is still recorded at 1/6. This shows that the attraction of the Gifted High School remains high.
Statistics show that specialized classes in English, math and literature continue to receive the most attention from candidates. Specifically, English has nearly 1,270 candidates registered, followed by math with more than 1,000 students, and literature with 782 students registered.
