On the morning of July 1, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition of Comrade Nguyen Van Linh - a steadfast and creative leader of the Vietnamese revolution on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh (July 1, 1915 - July 1, 2025).

Reminder of today's generation's responsibility
The exhibition introduces 100 precious documentary photos, vividly and realistically depicting the revolutionary life of the late General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh.
Each photo is like a slice of history, telling about the silent contributions, bold but correct decisions and simple everyday moments of people.
Notably, this exhibition opened on the first day of operation after the merger of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau operating under a two-level government model.
Speaking at the exhibition, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized: "These photos have recorded historical moments of the renovation process. We see the image of a leader who is close, listens, understands, but is also very decisive and courageous.
The photo exhibition is an opportunity for generations to better understand a heroic period of the nation's history, the great contributions of previous generations, especially the outstanding contributions of the late General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh.
Each photo is a reminder of our responsibility to continue to preserve and promote the achievements of the revolution, to build Vietnam to become increasingly rich, democratic, fair, civilized, and on par with the world powers as beloved Uncle Ho always wished.

100 precious photos of late General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh
The exhibition Comrade Nguyen Van Linh - The steadfast and creative leader of the Vietnamese revolution consists of two parts.
Part 1 “Comrade Nguyen Van Linh - An exemplary and resilient communist soldier” takes viewers back in time to the boiling years of the struggle for national independence and freedom; depicting the portrait of the late General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh from the early days of participating in the revolution to the years he was captured and imprisoned by the enemy in prisons.
These images once again depict communist soldiers who are not afraid of hardship and sacrifice, and are ready to face all challenges and dangers.
According to the organizers, the late General Secretary was one of the key leaders who directly directed, organized and developed the revolutionary movement in the South, contributing to the victory of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than in 1968 and the culmination of the Great Victory in the Spring of 1975, liberating the South and reunifying the country.

Part 2 of “General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh - The leader of the country's innovation” has a part of images recreating the context of the country in the 80s of the 20th century, the centralized and subsidized economic model revealed its limitations, hindering development. General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh soon introduced innovation policies, leading the country out of crisis.
Under the leadership of the General Secretary, the Party issued many important resolutions and policies, opening the door for the development of a socialist-oriented market economy, encouraging economic sectors, attracting foreign investment, and expanding foreign relations.
According to the organizers, the late General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh's real name was Nguyen Van Cuc (nicknamed Brother Muoi Cuc, Uncle Ut, Uncle Muoi). He was born in Hung Yen but his revolutionary life was closely linked to the Southern region, closely linked to the revolutionary cause of Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City.
From a young age, he was enlightened by revolutionary ideals, devoted himself to the path of national liberation, fighting for independence, freedom and happiness of the people. His life is an epic of indomitable will, creativity, courage and boundless sacrifice for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
