Host City Ho Chi Minh City wins the 2025 Traditional Boat Racing Championship

(NLDO) - The even strength and high competitive spirit are the basis for the Ho Chi Minh City team to excellently win the overall first place in the 2025 Traditional Boat Racing Championship.

After 10 days of competition, the Traditional Rowing Championship and the National Youth, U21, U23 Canoeing Championship 2025 ended at Da Bang Lake (Nghia Thanh Commune, Ho Chi Minh City).

At the Traditional Rowing Championship, the host team of Ho Chi Minh City excellently won first place overall with 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. The Hai Phong team ranked second with 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals, while the Phu Tho team ranked third with 3 gold medals.

The host team of Ho Chi Minh City won the whole traditional boat team.

In Canoeing, the number 1 position belongs to the Hai Phong delegation with 25 coaches, 18 silver medals and 6 bronze medals, leading the medal table. The Da Nang delegation came in second with 22 gold medals and the host city of Ho Chi Minh City ranked third with 10 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 17 bronze medals.

Both tournaments had the participation of 780 members, including coaches and athletes, from 19 units: An Giang, Bac Ninh, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Lam Dong, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Quang Tri, Army, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Tuyen Quang and Vinh Long.

Fierce competition

This is the first time Ho Chi Minh City has hosted two national tournaments in traditional boat and canoeing. The organization was carefully prepared with high professional quality and modern facilities, receiving positive reviews from the delegations.

The organizers said that the success of the tournament will create more motivation for Ho Chi Minh City and many other localities to focus on developing water sports.

Hosting these two tournaments also contributes to improving the capacity of organizing competitions and the management of referees in canoeing and traditional boat racing.

The highest success of the tournament is the successful completion of the inspection and evaluation of the quality of training and education of canoe and traditional boat racing athletes nationwide to select the force to compete in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
