(NLDO) - Moderate to heavy rain poured down on most districts in Ho Chi Minh City from around 6 p.m., causing difficulty for vehicles on many roads.


Today, many places in Ho Chi Minh City have heavy rain in the middle of the dry season, because the area is experiencing unseasonal rain. It is likely that this area will continue to have rain until December 15.

According to records, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City from morning to noon on December 13 was cloudy, with almost no sunshine. At around 3 p.m., light showers appeared scattered in districts 1, 5, 10, 11... At around 6 p.m., moderate and heavy rain poured down in most districts in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that the cold continental high pressure continues to strengthen to the South, the East wind disturbance in the high altitude is active, combined with the low pressure trough at 5-8 degrees North latitude, causing rain in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

Satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning until after 6 p.m. on December 13 showed that thunderstorms were developing, causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the areas of Can Gio, Nha Be, Cu Chi districts and Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind of about level 5-7 (8-17 m/s), heavy rain causing localized flooding.
