Yamal's 18th birthday party had a "Mafia" theme. |
On July 14, the ADEE Association (Spanish Association of Dwarfism and Skeletal Dysplasia) issued an official statement, denouncing Yamal for "seriously offending the dignity of people with disabilities."
Amid criticism from ADEE, one of the dwarf performers hired for the party spoke up to defend Yamal. The man, who did not want to be identified, said: "Nobody disrespected us, let us do our job in peace. I don't understand why there's so much noise."
The performer signed a confidentiality agreement before attending Yamal's party and was unable to share specific details. However, he did reveal that his role at the party included "dancing, serving drinks, and performing magic."
After the show, they were also invited to a party with the guests. "Everyone had a great time," the person added.

Earlier, ADEE president Carolina Puente harshly criticized Yamal: "It is unacceptable that in the 21st century, people with height disabilities are still used as entertainment at private parties, especially when public figures like Lamine Yamal are involved. The rights and honor of our community are not a pastime for anyone."
Taking place on the shores of the Mediterranean, Yamal's 18th birthday party attracted a star-studded guest list including Gavi, Alejandro Balde, and a star-studded line-up of artists including Bizarrap, Duki, Ozuna and Bad Gyal.
Yamal was even given a £300,000 necklace by rapper El Alfa - an expensive gift befitting the rising star's fame.
Pictures from the party went viral on social media, attracting a lot of attention. An Instagram model revealed that 12 women with “special bust sizes” were paid to attend the event. However, Yamal refused to comment on the information.
