The People's Committee of Binh Trung Ward (HCMC) has just announced 6 projects that are eligible for exemption from construction permits for individual houses, because they have approved detailed planning at a scale of 1/500.
These projects include: Saigon Binh An Urban Area (The Global City) of nearly 120 hectares invested by Saigon Investment and Development Joint Stock Company; Residential and tourism - culture - entertainment area of 30 hectares invested by 21st Century International Development Joint Stock Company.
There are also the 17.3ha resettlement housing area of District 2 Public Service One Member Co., Ltd.; Binh Trung Tay residential area invested by Bao Son Company; nearly 15ha residential area of Binh Trung Tay - Vietnam 21st Century Company and the low-rise housing area in Binh Trung Dong ward implemented by Binh Trung Real Estate Company.
Mr. Vo Quoc Truong - Vice Chairman of Binh Trung Ward People's Committee - said that people building individual houses under 7 floors in these projects will not need to apply for a permit, but must have legal documents on land and construction design in compliance with the 1/500 planning criteria.
In the coming time, the People's Committee of Binh Trung Ward will coordinate with the Department of Construction and related units to continue reviewing and at the same time, establish a detailed plan at a scale of 1/500 to cover urban areas along the main road, to implement construction permit exemption for people and businesses.
According to the Department of Construction, as of August, Ho Chi Minh City has announced a list of 112 out of 356 individual housing projects eligible for exemption from construction permits according to regulations.
The Department is also proposing to expand the scope of application in areas with existing urban design, in which planning and architectural criteria correspond to the requirements of detailed planning at a scale of 1/500.
Dr. Su Ngoc Khuong - Senior Director of Savills Vietnam Investment Department - said that the announcement of projects and areas exempted from construction permits by localities is a concrete action to implement the Government 's major policy, solving the long-standing difficulties and problems of people who have to have construction permits before being able to build houses.
According to Mr. Khuong, the exemption of permits will solve many administrative procedures, help people save time and effort, and the construction of civil works will be carried out faster.
